Today, I want to share a wonderful truth about God with you.
In Malachi 3:6 we read: “I am the LORD, and I do not change. That is why you descendants of Jacob are not already destroyed.”
In Hebrews 13:8 it says: “Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today, and forever.”
And James 1:17 tells us: “Whatever is good and perfect is a gift coming down to us from God our Father, who created all the lights in the heavens. He never changes or casts a shifting shadow.”
God never changes.
That means anything He reveals to us in His Word about Himself is something we can believe and literally build our lives on.
The apostle John tells us that God is love (1 John 4:16). Because He never changes, He will always be love. He will always love you just as much as He loves Jesus (John 17:23). There won’t come a day when He turns to you and says, “You know what, I don’t love you anymore. Actually, I’ve never really loved you.” You can rest assured in the love He has for you, knowing it will never change because He never changes.
The Bible also tells us God is good. Nahum 1:7 says He is a stronghold in the day of trouble. Psalm 145:9 says the Lord is “good to all, and His mercies are over all His works.” 1 Chronicle 16:34 tells us His lovingkindness is everlasting. And Romans 2:4 teaches us it is the goodness of God that leads us to repentance.
God is good. He doesn’t change, so He will never stop being good. He will always be good to you because that is who He is.
Now get a hold of another truth. Because God never changes, it doesn’t matter what you do or what you don’t do; He remains the same. It doesn’t matter what you go through, what challenges you face, or if the devil or people are attacking you, God never changes. He will always be love. He will always be good. He will always be just and righteous. He will never lie because He can’t (Titus 1:2). You can trust Him to be who He says He is in any and every circumstance. You can trust Him to do what He says He will do regardless of what is happening in the world around you.
Believing God never changes, helps us to trust Him. It comforts us in a world full of uncertainties.
What He says about Himself in the Word is who He will be for you at all times.
Ask the Lord to lead you to a truth about Himself. Meditate on it by rolling it over and over in your thinking. Ask Him to reveal to you everything there is to know about that truth.
Then begin to stand on the unchanging nature of God. He will not disappoint you.
